REGULATIONS REGARDING ZONALS DRAMATICS – 2024

THE PLAYS WILL BE PERFORMED AND JUDGED on Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September

Each Zone will present a stage play in the English Language, with a cast of not less than three characters. The time limit for this item will be thirty-five minutes. For exceeding the time limit: A penalty of 2 marks for every extra minute or part thereof for the first three minutes, and thereafter a penalty of 4 marks for every minute or part thereof, will be imposed. 

All scripts must be submitted to the Parish Priest, St Andrew's Church, or his nominee for scrutiny and approval by the date specified by the Organizing committee. 2 marks for every day of delay in submitting the script will be deducted from the dramatics points. Thereafter no alteration of the script shall be made without the Parish Priest or his nominee’s approval. Unauthorized and questionable alterations on the final day will entail a deduction of marks (upto 25% of marks scored in dramatics) or disqualification of the play. The Parish Priest or his nominee will have the right to control or modify actions, movements, costumes, language etc., considered not in keeping with a Parish event. The decision of the Parish Priest or his nominee on these matters will be final and binding.

Please note that the time limit for your dramatics item is 35 minutes; the penalty for exceeding this time limit is a deduction of TWO points for every extra minute or part for the first three minutes; and thereafter a penalty of FOUR points for every minute or part thereof will be deducted.

In regard to any suggestions you wish to make, or any problems you may want solved, about stage arrangements, please have these listed on paper to be handed over to a representative of the organizers who will be deputed to attend the rehearsals.

SOUND AND LIGHTING - A total of 12 lights of general/common lighting would be provided. Equipment available is Halogen and Par Cans 64.

For Additional lighting, the rate card will be sent to Captains. All additional lighting equipment must be hired from the auditorium contractors only. The auditorium management may limit the total number of lights permissible subject to load. For Sound, your own Pen Drive must be used. This would have to be operated by the zonal representatives (maximum 2).

Microphones provided on stage are the only ones used. No extra microphones are allowed. Re-positioning of microphones is not permitted.

Two wired microphones will be available for use only in the wings and cannot be carried onstage 

To schedule the presentation time of your play on Saturday, the organisers must be informed the time duration of your play by Tuesday, August 27th 2024

The scheduled timing of the presentation of your zonal dramatics item for Saturday and Sunday will be intimated to you on Saturday morning and we solicit your co-operation in ensuring that these timings are maintained. Please ensure that you are ready at least 15 minutes in advance.

Please read carefully through the STAGE RULES to avoid any breach of rules on the day of the Finals and to ensure minimum wastage of time.
